Here is the Badge "100 Years Of The Association Of Women", dating from 1957, an award of the Fatherland Front. A rather strange award considering the Fatherland Front abolished the Union Of Women, the successor of the Association Of Women, in 1944.

The original Bulgarian Women's Movement was established before Bulgarian autonomy in 1857 in the town of Lom by the teacher and theatre director Kr"st'o Prishurka. Although Prishuka was fundamental in kicking off the Women's Movement and was a strong Bulgarian Nationalist, he did not live to see Bulgarian independence, dying in 1875.
