Kliment,

I asked because I have handled in the past boards dating from WW2 that were "field made" by sewing ribbons on fabric.

This subject has been discussed previously on other forums. The general opinion is that boards of this type were, as Marc has stated "field made". To add, the lace used to fabricate Al-muell's (and the example shown here) pair has been described as (translated): "Such lace was used for dressing church garments and holiday country clothes (the end 19 beginning of 20 centuries)."

They are sewn-on.
This explaination of "church origin" of the lace sounds good to me.
I didn't meant that boards themselves ar imperial - the back makes me sure they aren't. I was only saying about the lace. As I said, the ones I have seen for sale were epaulets, not shoulderboards.

Thank You all very much for help and special help for Richie for solving this mystery!

Hello Al-Muell,
You mean the grey attachment strap with black stripes? Again for me it's nothing military, just a kind of ribbon used by tailors.

Well, it's made of the same material as ribbons for sviet awards, altough it's wider (exactly 4cm). Similar ribbons are indeed used in some trousers, but they are never made of this knid of material. Also it is not that ornate to be worn as clothing ornament.

It's colour is actually bright gray-blue with black and then gold borders.

Could this shoulder board be wartime? The board is five-sided but lacks a hole for an artillery or armored forces insignia. Or is this an early post-war motorized rifle shoulder board, just before the six-sided boards were issued?
