There's nothing wrong with it.
It's a: Type 4, Variation 2, Subvariation 2.

I'm going to bid on it too...

Dolf,

It's Type 4 Variation 1.
The range for this type is: 169,816 - 368,337

HuliganRS,

Thank you very much for the prompt reply :)

BTW, any idea of how much would be a fair price for such a Order with a Doc. ?

Thanks again,

Dolf

Dolf,

I would say a fair price would be $30 -$35.

The order alone should fetch $20...

Dolf,

The one in the picture is a Type 4 Variation 2.

Keep in mind that if the description doesn't mention the orders book, chances are you won't be getting one. The seller of this BoH uses same pictures for all of his items. So chances are this is NOT the actual order you'll receive.

No one is dumb enough yet to fake a "cheap" order like this... It simply is not worth the time and effort for a $20 - $60 BoH... It makes economic sense to fake the medal for Belgrade or Sevastopol and make quick money with no enamel and intricate work.

As far as price: Flatback BoH's will run you $25 - $60 depending on the variation (lower S/N pieces will run more)
Concave reverse BoH will run you $15 - $25 depending on the variation.

You have to be careful on eBay, some people get excited and bid up things just because... I've seen a concave reverse go for $60 and I wouldn't pay more than $30 for it. You can see late variation Red Banner sells for $90 one week and the very next week I picked up an earlier variation for $50!!!

There are dealers that sell concave BoH's for $18 - $20 and you can PM for their names.

Hope this helps,

Rusty.

badge of Honour - production error?

An order of the badge of honour Type 4, Variation 2:

The third "C" of the CCCP writing has a tiny silver dot on it. As most photos on the net are not good enough to view such things, I would like to ask the experts here if this is a common feature.
