Badge "For Merit In The Border Guard".
This badge is probably the earliest Border Guard badge (late '40's-early '50's RPR) and is "For Merit in the Border Guard". It is numbered 907 and does show some "character" marks.

Recently came by this earlier, and nicer looking, badge number 369. Note that on this badge the number is stamped across the bottom and that the colours appear more vibrant. Actually this is not unusual at all when dealing with Romanian enameled badges... standard cap badges seem to change a bit from piece to piece.
