Help with this word please
Hi Folks - I found the citation for one of my ORS purchases on the podvignaroda site. I have been able to translate most of it but am stuck with this word - полуторатысяч
Here is the context in case that helps: 5 Марта 1945 года в районе деревня Штадтхоф противник силою до полуторатысяч человек пехоты при поддержке 15 самоходных орудий атаковал боевые порядки полка. As always any help is greatly appreciated. Simon |

Re: Help please
Many thanks, Simon.
Yes, Captain-Lieutenant Vladimir Vasil'evich Vas'kovsii, security officer of the Special Department of KGB, served aboard K-424 where he "participated in the development of new tactical procedures, including the use of an atomic submarine under the ice fields of the Central Arctic. That included fourteen ice-breaking surfacings done by K-424. He did a great amount of work to ensure the state security amongst the crew of the submarine." (from the recommendation for his CSM). Just finishing up a JOMSA article on his group. |

Re: Help please
The article is in the hands of the JOMSA editor and will come when it comes. I'll give the forum a heads-up when that happens.
In the interim, see http://soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...nnumbered.html Last edited by medals73; 04-02-2012 at 07:08 AM. |

Re: Translation Help
Requesting help with this ukaz date, please. Not quite sure what the date is supposed to be. ??.05.1965
I'm pretty sure it's an 11. But since I've only only heard of this ukaz once before, and since there were several nearby ukaz dates, I want to be sure. If it is an 11, anyone know what this ukaz is for? Thanks! Alex |
