"Precious Rod" Order.

Seems to be quiet in the Mongolian Section, so here's some eye candy.

Order of the Precious Rod 3rd class, 4th Grade.

They are soo cool! I think it's amazing that they were actually awarded after the Revolution.

Alexei
A very nice order and very rare because I have never seen one for sale.
Cheers

There seems to be much discussion about what they are made of. I have recently seen a 3rd class 3rd grade with a deep scratch on the back, as if somebody was testing it for metal. It would appear that it is made of gilded bronze.

Re: Order of the Precious Rod (Vajra)

Just to (1) reinvigorate an old thread, (2) reinvigorate the moribund Mongolia section, (3) remind us of long-absent forumites who were once active, and (4) provide more pretty things . . .

Order of the Vajra, 1st class, believed to be 3rd grade

Mongolian-made, probably sewed onto the clothing. Missing central "jewel".

Re: Order of the Precious Rod (Vajra)

Order of the Vajra, 2nd class, 1st grade

One only seen and (poorly -- it was cold and dimly lit) photographed while on sale for a ridiculous asking price.
