And believe it or not, once I saw what the name is in the typed text, I of all people who has so much trouble with most written Russian, can actually make out the name from at least the first part of the signature.:thumbsup It is as Matteti said.

Hi guys,
Here's one that stumped me. Now, I read Russian but I can't make sense of it. I thought it's Chava Maksim Andreevich, but the way the soldier signed his name it could be Chavoi. Or is it Chavo, comma? :confused: This gentleman was awarded a late GPW2 (possibly for Pacific Fleet?) that I'd like to research, it would be cheaper if I knew the name. :) George |
