He already found the stuff for the main piece. He can't locate the guys 2 Red Stars...
We'll see, he's still digging. Rusty.

Full Cavalier Set to be Had
To all:
A leading dealer of German militaria based in Germany is currently offering a Category 5 (see initial post above) Full Cavalier set for 7,200 Euros or $8,784.00. The set is to Sgt. Ivan Mikhailov, 1067th Rifle Regiment, 311th Rifle Division. It includes Order of Glory 1st class # 460, Order of Glory 2nd class # 27079, Order of Glory 3rd class # 239138, Medal For Valor # 1372262 and five additional medals mounted on bar. Documentation includes Mikhailov's "Voennoye Bilet" with photo and corresponding entries. Mikhailov received the 3rd class for actions from 20-24 September 1944 in Latvia, the 2nd class on 28 January 1945 in Pila (Poland) and the 1st class on 26 April 1945 for leading a recon party across the Hohenzollern Canal in the vicinity of Berlin. This is the first Full Cavalier set (of any category) that I have seen offered for sale in many, many months. At $8,784.00 for a Category 5 set, one can only imagine what a Category 1 Full Cavalier set would command in today's market. Another Full Cavalier Set
To all:
A well-known NYC-area dealer is currently offering a Full Cavalier set that also includes the Medal for Valor, Ordenskaya Knizhka, assorted archival research and a few PMD certificates. His asking price for this Category 4 Full Cavalier set is $9,700.00. As evidenced by this and the above post, a doubling in price for Full Cavalier sets has occurred over the past 12-15 months. Slava,
That is indeed a huge price jump. Would you agree with me though, that the dealer in question has some of the highest prices for all types of orders and medals in the business?

Matthijs, Slava,
That is on a par with the increase for all top Soviet orders over the same period: Khmelnisky III: $750 to $3500 Suvorov III: $900 to $4000 etc. And I am not even mentioning any I class. Marc |

Marc,
You're right, it's that natural inflation we've come to expect in Soviet orders. Great if you own some though... Quote:

Hello guys, sorry for the delay, I didn't had a lot of time lately. Here are a few more pics of this Order of glory and with it is a Red star, which will be also mine soon. The order of the red star is numbered 2 737 362. What do you think, a ww2 award?
The reason I was asking if the Glory is ww2 award was because I don't know exactly, how many were awarded during ww2 period (I know some were awarded late in fifties and even sixties for ww2 heroism) and also because I think it's too well preserved. |
