We already see this quite often, when collectors don't accumulate variations, but rather one single award (say, P.War 1st class), but only for certain heroic deed, or certain battle, or certain type of military force (only snipers, for instance), only postumous, and so on... Same applies to HSU groups, and Glory's...
So, in a nutshell, price may (and will, in my firm opinion) reflect the rarity associated with the history and heroism, more so than with the variation. Awards of HSU pilots, who are aces, already command prices of different levels, than similar items of pilots, who didn't quite distinquish themselves. Same with glory cavaliers groups - some are more desirable than others. The one we discuss, for one, is to recon. sergeant., I think this is probably as good as it gets :love
AlexF,

Exactly. I couldn't agree more. As for certain Full Cavalier groups being more desireable than others, I wholeheartedly concur in your view. There are fine shades of difference in desirability/collectability in my view. Fellow forum members please don't take me wrong - to own a Full Cavalier set of any type is a wonderful accomplishment. As AlexF noted, a recon sergeant FC set would be a super score.

For me, however, had that recon sergeant Full Cavalier been assigned to a Guards, or better yet, a Guards Airborne Division or Naval Infantry Brigade, it would make it even more desireable.

Bottom Line: This is what should count most - not the fact a "border reverse" variant is in the group.

I don't think this is so simple.

Suspension on the photo is 7 place with other medals grouped together with Glory medals. In the lot for sale we different 3-place suspension with Glory medals only and loose medals on single suspensions.

Clearly the original suspesnion was disassembled. Who knows what had happened to 2nd class Glory...

I finally bought my Glory II and not the Odessa yet.

Have I made a good choice? :)

Glory

To all:

Interesting to note the huge jump in price for this group from the time it passed from desantnik to stogieman to its new home.

Now available at a well-known NYC-area dealer. Asking price: $1,650.00.
