Well, I guess I don't like to mess up with the Medals, so in my case, no velcro, no glue, nothing at all.
With those displays I use, all I have to do is to place them as aligned as possible then close the display, usually they stay in place only with the pressure of the glass on top and the foam on the back. Just my 2 cents, Dolf |

I use butterfly boxes, which have white plush material inside.
Once you place the medals in the case - just close the lid tightly, the medals will be pushed against the glass and will stay in place. Just to add to the issue of butterfly cases - they look good as displays and are quite inexpensive - I buy them around $7 a piece at the medals shows. What I also like about them - the cases can be stacked on top of each other and placed on the shelves horizontally. William Last edited by CtahhR; 06-09-2014 at 01:16 PM. |

Here are some of the ways I have my collection displayed. I still need to get better organized.

Trying to get a file under 50 KB is a task. This started out at 1,200 KB.
This is my WW2 collection. Here are my Labor medals. On this display I re-arrange the medals on the banner each time I get a medal. That is why I use the pin attachment and not valcro. The WW2 display has valcro. And lastly, my jubilee medals, still a work in progress. Titles will be on the red plaquards. I am re-doing my military displays. How ro display Soviet awards
I use a do-it-yourself shadow box from the local crafts store. It has a black velour background. For screw backs I drill a hole and attach it. For the medals I use a piece of velcro run through the pin back. A local trophy shop makes the nameplates for me. The attach pics are from a documented and now researched Brother and Sister group to Colonel Fiodorov, Boris Mikhailovitch and Fiodorov, Zinaida Mikhailovna. The space at the top is for the nameplates that aren't back from the trophy shop. Sorry that the picture quality isn't better. I need to get a better digital camera.
