$282.66 for a ORB #382,581 (most likely a long service award for that number range).

Granted, it looks fresh from the mint but still, DANG!
Why are you surprised by the price?

WW2 Red Banners sell for $500+ in Russia, 50% for post-war RB seems to be in line with that price.

Probably because less than a year ago, I bought my second for $130.00 on Eb?y.

and that number is not from WW2 but from later in the 50's.

Yes, I can't understand why on Russian forums people pay soo much for Red Banners and Glories. Normal Glories III are selling for about $150 now in Russia!

I don't get it either.

Where did all awards go? I am talking about common Glories (close to 1 million issued), Red Stars (over 3 millions), and Red Banner (in hundreds of thousands).

How many collectors do they have in Russia to make demand go to such high prices?

Well, I got quite a few and the prices make my collection worth a bit so I'm happy better not let my wife see this tho

Brendan, this situation with you keeping the amount you have spent from your wife is a ticking time bomb. Defuse it quickly.

When I get a new uniform

and my wife asks how much it was, sometimes I tell her it was a trade. What I don't tell her is that what I traded was cash for a new uniform.

Bryan, William,

You are sorely missing one important point here: Russian Economics!

All known theories stop working once you cross the border
