Awarded to Private Nikolai Gavrilovich Zherebtsov, 100th Cavalry Regiment. A 1958 award (for obvious reasons).
The award and a partial recommendation translation. Much translation wants doing. |

I'm just guessing here, but it could also be a translation of поощрение, which can also mean 'commendation' or 'reward' or even 'pat on the back'.
