The place where he was wounded was Malodum, Gomel Okrug, BSSR. Must have been renamed or destroyed as it's not currently on the maps.

Commander of the 3rd squadron of the Saber section, Guards Sergeant Kuz’menko Isai Emel’yanovich for that, he participated in the battles with the German invaders as part of the 17th Cavalry Division, 127th Cavalry Regiment in the direction of Pervomaisky (Mayday) on the Western Front on 02.08.1941. He was lightly wounded whilst part of this squadron during the Regiments defence of Voronezh on 29.07.1942. He was seriously wounded whilst participating in the battle surrounding the city of Talodum? on the 1st Belorussian Front on 15.11.1943. He is a disciplined, exacting junior commander, his department shows good organization and discipline. Comrade Kuz’menko quickly joined the fight. With fire from his heavy machine gun he destroyed a group of 15 enemy Volkssturm soldiers. 5 people were taken prisoner. The tank was rescued and its advancement was secured. He is deserving of the award, the order of Glory 3rd Class.
