Well, there's a problem about the branch - the colour is pink (unless it's because of fading), not red. What service could have used pink It seems to be unissued, but on the other hand - there's a trace of a button and something that looks like a trace of a glue which could fit 2 stars for a lieutenant, but could just be some accidental dirt.

Al-muell,

No branch of service used pink. You must remember that these were field made, and as such, they may not (and in this case definitely do not) match regulations.

On your pictures, the background looks red enough to pass for original red. If the actual color is more purple than it appears, then it could be for infantry.

What I mean by "pink" is the colour reffered to as "raspberry", like for the infantry, but then the silverish colour would be strange...

Al-muell,

No, it would not. It would indicate either medical officers (they had white fields) or non-combat personnel in Artillery or Tank units.

I know, but medics had green stripes and piping (and narrower boards), Administrative, justice etc. service - red (narrower), and all technicians should have red stripes and ppiping.
At least in theory

Al-muell,

Green stripes came later. M43 specifies that medical personnel had red piping. I have an M43 parade uniform to a Colonel-Physician, a real beauty; boards are white silk on red background.

colors

I may be off on the colors (tough for me to tell if red or magenta), but if the board is white/silver with magenta then I think its supply / commissariat service. There is a nice example in the large format Shalito book.

And from what branch and period could my gold / red boards boards be? Are they unissued?

Speaking of unusual boards

I was going through some boxes to figure out what I have and ran across this nice m43 with the rather uncommon "retiree" boards (1947-?). I thought some of the epaulet collectors might be amused.

Is it reissued imperial boards? If so, for hat service? Or is it Soviet non-military?
And what award ribbon served as the backing and attachment stripes?
The ribbon is for the Romanian King Carol I Centennial Medal ( Medalia "Centenarul Regelui Carol I") awarded in 1939.
