Guys,

Here's a #4 with a fairly high serial number of 75. Looks worn.

Help Please with serial ###

I have here a red banner of Combat, serial number has been slightly covered when they repaired the srcew post.

As best as I can tell it appears to me to be #194

Any help would be appreciated.

Ron,

Looks like 194. Have you thought about trying to carefully remove some of the solder?

A freind of mine has a microscope so I was going to use that first to get a real good close look. I am a little afraid to start scraping away soldier, I don't want to damage it. If I was to remove some soldier, any suggestions as to how to do that?

Here's some eye candy - 3rd RB with s/n 5.

Ron,

IMHO a microscope wouldn't help because even the lowest 100x magnification would be too much. I would suggest a numismatic loupe with 10x-30x.

I would probably take it to a jeweler to have the solder removed.

Alexei

:wow :wow That's the first time I see a 2nd award, Thanks for sharing Alexei.

I'm in Mongolia rigt now, mixing business with pleasure, but I have little hope of returning home with a beauty like that.

Best regards
Jan

Here's an interesting early piece without the "O" or other marks on the back. Serial number is 88.

Here's an interesting variation - there is a faint "B" partially covered by the usual "O".
