Medal "In Memory Of The Glorious 1885 Campaign".

The Medal "In Memory Of The Glorious 1885 Campaign" or "In Memory Of The Glorious War Of 1885" which is officially named differently in the Russian and Bulgarian languages (Медаль „Въ Память Славной 1885 Кампанiй“/Медал „Въ Паметъ На Славната Война Въ 1885 Год“). This Medal was issued in both Russian or Bulgarian language and either in Silver or Bronze depending combat or support service during the Serbo-Bulgarian War of November 1885. The Medal was instituted on 19th February 1886 (The day of the treaty of Bucharest officially ending the war) and ceased on 7th September 1886 to be replaced by the Medal "For Participation In The Serbo-Bulgarian War 1885". The reason why this Medal was issued in both Bulgarian and Russian is unknown as Russia did not participate in this short and somewhat accidental campaign.

Here is a Bronze Medal in Russian. This Medal has had a hard life as someone has attempted to deface it after the removal of Alexander as prince.
