Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment: On 04.07.41 near Kalinovka, Vinnitsa Oblast he was standing guard at the regimental HQ when he detained two Germans who had changed into our uniform and delivered them to the commander of the 798th Regiment. Noticing [trans: their discovery], the Germans began shooting and wounded him in the leg.

As a mortar company first sergeant in the 3rd Rifle Battalion, 343rd Rifle Regiment, 38th Rifle Division, 38th Army, on 21.09.43 he participated in the Dnepr forced river crossing and subsequent capture of Grigorevka, Kiev Oblast (83km south of Kiev) and participated in the repulsion of numerous enemy counterattacks, holding of Grigorevka, and expansion of the bridgehead by 10 kilometers and despite being shell-shocked he did not leave his post on the day until the day of his wounding on 12.01.44 when he was evacuated to the hospital (according to his wound certificate).

At the present he works as the director of the Akhlatyan elementary/middle school. He is considered one of the best workers, both self-disciplined and conscientious in his duties.

He has been dropped from the reserve roles due to being unfit for duty as a result of his two wounds and one bout of shell-shock.

Certificate given to First Sergeant Suren Dzhavadovich Egiyan (343rd Rifle Regiment, 38th Rifle Division) who was in medical recuperation in Hospital #2464 from 17.03.44-18.05.44 for being wounded in the right rib cage and having the presence of a foreign object in the right lung diaphragm. His wounding was as a result of action on the front lines. He was wounded 12.01.44 in defense of the USSR.

As the result of a doctors’ commission recognizing Post 25, Group II by the Peoples Commissariat of Defense #336 -1942, he was declared unfit for medical service after a four-month observation.

Signed Hospital Chief and Chief of Section and stamp of Hospital #2464, verified by the Sismanskii Regional Military Commissariat, Major Davidyan.
