Re: Red Star,1760066,Senior Lieutenant Veterinary Service
As I've previously said today I am an "agricultural" type and that is mainly all things equestrian. As someone who has not only foaled but also injected treatments into horses I have first hand experience of equine ailments. Equine Lymphangitis is a rather tricky ailment in horses especially in this situation where antibiotics were not ready at hand. I'm sure in other situations they would have been converted from work horses to food.
Attached is a pre-Antibiotic assessment of the illness from the January 1916 (That's right Great War) printing of the Veterinary Practice At Home (or Key To Farriery). Also you seem to be having a lot of strange spellings for someone from Derbyshire (which is difficult enough for some to pronounce!) and I would advise you get the British English dictionary add on for Firefox. It's an English language spell checker that highlights the spelling errors in red when typing. I don't think it will fix those strange inverted non-British, Non-European, Non-Russian dates though. It also doesn't like the word "Lymphangitis".

Nice award! I teach Biochemistry to Veterinary Science students. I will try and find a way to fit this into one of my lectures.

The first award to a veterinarian Ihave seen. It is nice to see that someone who helped the horses, not humans was also considered worthy to get an award.
