Order "For Civil Valour"/"For Industrialisation Valour".

Eugene,
It seems there are - regarding sources - different way of presenting it :
It is sometimes presented as being the continuity of the Order of Red Banner for Military Valour, type 2 (1940). (see photo). In this case, it becomes the Type 3, as you stated.
In my view, these are two different orders... Is it correct ?

Ch.

Christophe,

What you are showing is Order of Red Banner for Military Valour - Type II - 1940 emission.

Type I was called Order for Civil Valour and was issued in 1926 - see attached picture.

Majorpayne bought Type III (1945 emission), as Eugene noted previously.

Order "For Civil Valour"/"For Industrialisation Valour".

The Order of Civil Valor was established in 1926 and was awarded about 300 times.
This example is on offer with a starting price of € 8,190!

Cheers Rusty,
The first thing I noticed when looking at your pic was the Laurel leaves. And doesn't the top pic look as though it has a yellow background to it.

It may be privately manufactured piece...
As far as I know, all Mongolian awards up tp 1940/41 were manufactured in Soviet Union's mints.
So this piece should have MM + S/N and no assay stamps.

This piece looks like it has assay stamps...

Rusty,
Do you have a reverse pic of the one you posted. The seal in the middle with the laurel branches was used from 1939-1945. Which puts tis Order in that time frame is that correct?

No. It's a very RARE piece. It's the 1936 type with only 300 pieces manufactured!!!

If I come across one, I'll post it.

Cheers Rusty, ;)
I've just one question, about the seal in the middle.

From 1924 - 1939 the MPR had a plain seal.
From 1939 - 1945 the laurel branches were added.
From 1945 - 1992 no laurel but a Red Star was added to signify the victory over Japan.

If this is correct why has your 1936 version have the middle seal with laurel branches? My pic too for that matter!

Also the very early Orders were without a Mint mark and S/N. They had three assay stamps.
Later versions then had Mondvor and Monetnyi Dwor with a number.

Eddie.

Jan,

The ones with the stamps and no mint mark are probably privately issued pieces, hence the difference.

I always thought they were produced in one of the mints but...

P.S. Unless the piece Taz posted is infact a cheaper private issue, I believe it's a Fake. The detail don't seem right, the enamel looks wrong, + other things.

Just my thoughts.

Rusty.
