Could be Ohlau - now Oława on the west bank of upper Oder, south of Breslau/Wrocław. Not sure for "Steine", but I would guess it may be Kamieniec Wrocławski - not too far away northwards. No Idea what was the German name, but in the Middle-Ages it was known as "Kamena" - an archaic form of "Stones". That one is just a gues though.
The only "Steine" that comes tomy mind is a Creek in Poland and Czech Republic - currently known as "Ścinawka" in Polish or "Ste'navka" in Czech, but probably a lot of villages could have had the name. |

OK, I was almost certainly right. This site: Historia
Indicates that the German nameof Kamieniec Wrocławski was "Steinau" untill the end of eighteenth century and "Steine" from the beggining of the nineteenth until 1945. There may be a different "Steine" on Oder, but unlikely to be close to different "Olau" or "Ohlau". |
