In battle with German Fascists 17th September 1942 in the Village of Mokroe the platoon commander was out of action. Command was taken over by Comrade Babaev and he at once commanded his platoon. In this battle many Germans prevailed on Babaev's platoon, he personally in direct melee combat destroyed 11 Fascists. Further more fire from his mortar significantly made a shield for his infantry subunits.
