Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

On 23.7.44 during the Velikaya forced river crossing and occupation of the village of Ivazhino while under heavy enemy shelling, Comrade Taran and his crew destroyed while firing on direct lay, three firing positions, 3 machineguns, and dispersed three groups of Germans, killing as many as 30 soldiers and officers.
With his precise work Comrade Taran and his firing supported our infantry’s crossing of the Velikiya with minimal losses.

Conclusion: For capable firing on enemy firing positions and personnel in support of the Velikaya forced river crossing and for displaying valor and courage, he is deserving of the Order of Glory III Class.
