Metallic Ornament Factory Sofia.

Here is an Ornament made by the Metallic Ornament Factory T. S. & Company, Sofia. This is often confused as a Medal due to the fact it features the double headed eagle. This ornament was made to be woven into a Christian woman's clothing as was fashion in Bulgaria around the time of liberation. Many Bulgarian, Ottoman and other nations' coins can be found in Bulgaria with holes punched in them. This was to enable them to be woven together in a similar fashion to a mail.
These large brass ornaments were a cheap substitute for gold coins.
