For rarity these sites put on R2 usually but in my opinion there pretty rare. I mean how often do you find good screw backs for sale? Sure theres many fakes on epay or orders with really bad enamel but to find a really nice ORB screw back is a bit of a undertaking these days.

What do you call "rare"? Please define this term, then I'll give you my opinion about their scarcity.

Thanks Redbanner and Marc! :thumbsup

Marc, I was just trying to figure out the rarity of this particular order(imaged above) on the "R" scale, by variation and etc.

ORB variation?

I have been documenting my orders lately making a description of which variation and approx. Year of serial number range. I am a little stumped on this ORB it doesn't seem to match the variation that the range of serial number is. Does anyone have a clue which variation this is?serial is 191113 i thought it would be a T3V2 but the back seems to to be slightly different. Any comment is greatly appreciated.

Re: ORB variation?

RedBanner,

What is not matching here? Your ORB is T3V4 according to Mondvor.

Re: ORB variation?

The mint mark itself looks identical to that of the T3V4 same with the serial number range but the reverse to the ORB has a almost T3V2 look in my opinion. Most T3V4's i see always has a smooth reverse as opposed to mine. Mine has a bit more character on the reverse if you know what i mean.

Thank you Marc your comments always brighten up my day when it comes to medals!

I'm really no expert. But there is a picture of an ORB SN 192.133 in the Durov / Strekalov book's on ORB (page 132) (according to their classification: type 4.2.1). And it appears to be consistent.
