Friendship Of Nations.
How to show the particularities of original order, if there is nothing to compare with. Even if there is something we need the unchallengeable scenes of its originality. If take a look inside, there are such things, which impossible to make fake.
1.1 The ray of the red star and crystals of the order of Friendship of folk Increase 50 Õ. Since install the illumination on raised surface exceedingly difficult, garbling the color exists under greater increase. On this photography red color look like black. 1.2 Ray of the red star and crystals of the order. Increase 200Õ. Crystals are visible on gilded surface. 1.3 Ray of red star and crystals of the order. Since fakes are getting better all the time I wonder if doing this will become as common as weighing and measuring a piece amongst collectors.

Bobsammer,
Wow! What did you use to take those pictures. Some kind of lab microscope with a camera? I do have a kids microscope with 100-300 times magnification and a powerful flashlight to illuminate the items :( Alexei |

Excellent work Bobsammer. Do you have any images with any rarer awards which are forged incessantly? I'd like to see these quality images with an authentic Order for Personal Courage...also some sort of description of what we should be looking for would be appreciated. Also, obviously you have access to the high tech gear you are using for your photography. Could you adjust the magnification to something that we could all see under a real powerful loupe?
Art P.S. Again, nice scans.

Wow...
Wow, I enjoy Bobsammer's thread....very interesting stuff!
On a lighter note...if collecting (authenticating) ever comes down to this ...I am screwed ... Dan (HISTORY major) ps - agree with earlier comment. A comparison with a copy or fake would be intriguing to see...

Strange...suddenly 4 OOF are offered at the same time (by 3 sellers). Anyway, look at this picture. Where is the S/N and the underline?
Compare to this: And this one:

My favorite acquisition from this year is this Order of Friendship of Peoples, boxed and documented. In my opinion the most beautiful award the Soviets ever made. This piece has a very high serial number (74267) and was awarded to Leonid Alekseyevich Kulikov on 23 November 1990, only 32 days before the end of the Soviet Union.
