In battle 8th October 1944 in the region of Height 258.3 in the region of Petsamo, Murmansk Oblast Comrade Dolganin with his company were located in the most important site. Despite of the complexity of battle, his company repeatedly deflected enemy counter-attacks, where his fighters shows exceptional heroism, courage and valour. Personally Comrade Dolganin always went ahead, showing an example to his subordinates. Personally in one of these skirmishes he destroyed two Fritzes.
