Earlier, I knew that such a medal had existed. But I did not see it photography. There were no information about this medal on any site.
Almost everybody confirms that «Medal for Restoration of the Donbass Coal Mines» has no variation.
I knew that difference only in that “there is no stair on the tower”, 400 pieces only.
However, recently I have found it. There is detailed photographies for comparison.
Please, Compare by yourselves.
The Left row is usual, the right is "without stair on tower".

I have a medal which is identical in the features you showed in your variation and also a restoration of the black metallurgical enterprises which shows the same unusual loop device.

In that case, I don't like the white residue on the letters - which is common amongst faked medals, AND original medals which were cleaned by some silver cleaning fluid.

I can be wrong but I don't like the loops and the edges, uneven or too thick...

Document for the Medal for the Restoration of the Donbass Coal Mines issued to Ivan Potapovich Polishchuk on August 22, 1948 issued by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sverdlovsk Raion, Serial #074577.

Document for the Medal and Medal for the Restoration of the Donbass Coal Mines issued to Joseph Pavlovich Suptelya on August 24th, 1948, and signed by the Chairman of the Stalino Regional Council of Deputies, now Donetsk, Ukraine, Serial #009476.
