Sooo... does this have any effect on the price? Is 35 euros a bad or a good price (in Sweden, I know it's more than in Russia)?

It does not really affect price if its everyday or just parade. These type of items are not really aimed at collectors rather the tourist who just wants an item to take home. That being said, $30 here in the states would be pretty good, $40 ok, etc. Its tough to say if its a good price in Sweden since most of us don't know what is going on in the Swedish market.

I don't have my regs handy but I though ALL officer greatcoats had grey boards and none had green boards. Wghat is certain is that almost no officer would in reality have had two greatcoats - one parade and one service.

As a matter of fact, yes, all soviet officers had two greatcoats, one grey parade and one brown service. Both were required apparel for all officers.

I've LIVED in Russia for extended periods, once during Soviet times, at the homes of five different retired Soviet officers, and I asked every uniform question I could think of, and every one answered that he had two different greatcoats.

I've also seen photographs of officers wearing the brown field greatcoat in military periodicals, both then-Soviet (Military Parade) and American (I remember the article, it was in the AUSA's journal, "ARMY Magazine").
I would find it hard to believe that an active duty Soviet officer would *not* have 2 different greatcoats, they were probably required issues/purchases. Maybe the reserve officers; I worked with someone who attended the reserve officer's training course at the Taganrog Electro-technical Institute, and he described the military training as pretty lax, and the uniforms, when required, were on loan. Officer greatcoats shouldn't be confused with conscript greatcoats, which was both winter field *and* parade uniform (just white belt!). |

If I may be permitted to qualify my last statement. Perhaps not ALL Soviet officers would own two different overcoats, but certainly those stationed in any sort of larger city would need both, especially in and around the Moscow Military District, Leningrad, the capitals of the different republic, so-called Hero Cities, the GSFG (Group of Soviet Forces in Germany, stationed in the DDR), those forces stationed in the Warsaw Pact sattelite nations, or anywhere else where the Soviets wanted their power and prestige on display. To those east of the Urals, in backwater towns and forgotten garrisons, perhaps the requirement was never met.
