re: Artillery Colonel Parade Uniform
All USSR aiguilettes I have seen has been made from golden threads - is your made from golden thread or plain yellow thread?
Overall I have seen very few uniforms with the aiguilette attached; currently I have two such uniforms. Aiguilettes as I understand it were used by units participating in ceremonies in the Hero cities, not only Moscow. To be honest, I have not seen any clear regulations for the wearing of aiguilettes, but I may just have missed it. The Lenin anniversary medal ranks higher than the Afghanistan award and should thus be placed, as stated, on top with the Afghanistan award on same level or lower. re: Artillery Colonel Parade Uniform
"The Afghan medal should go at the other side, under the medal racks OR attached to the right lapel.
According to the 1989 regulations, the arms specialist badge (the one with the number or the M) should go at the same height of the lenin medal. Next, the other three badges should be at the same height of the medal racks, in a single line." OK, I will place the Afghan medal centered under the bottom medal rack. And your other suggested changes will be made. Since it now seems that the "rope" was infact worn in parades thanks to the thread's contributors I will leave it, but if anyone else has any more evidence that it should be left off please let me know. What I believe I am reading is that this matter is still a toss up. Thus I will err on the side of havng a cooler uniform. I have posted the new configuration here. I would very much appreciate it if I could get a consensus on the badge placement. I know it is all up to interpretation, but please I would really appreciate it if you all could just vote whether the config shown here is most accurate or if the previous config was better. Thanks a lot guys. |

Re: Artillery Colonel Parade Uniform
If I were to choose, for symmetry the Afghanistan would go next to Lenin.
Also, if going regulationwise (where the Afghanistan medal is actually not mentioned) the correct order of the awards would be: Medal Bravery Medal Combat service Medal "Veteran serviceman" Medal 50th anniversary SAF" Medal 60th anniversary SAF" Medal 70th anniversary SAF" Medal 250th anniversary Leningrad Medals for service I, II, III class The older SAF anniversary medals are higher ranked than the newer ones.
