Medal "Youth Participant Of The All-Union Agricultural Exhibition".

I spotted this medal on an auction site. Anyone know what it was given for and when?

Interesting! I'd be interested in hearing more too. But it's true what you said about the medal: the quality does seem crappy, at least on the obverse.

I believe that it is an original medal from the mid to late 1950's.

Yeah, here's a pic. The ribbon is pretty soiled, but I don't think it was ever light blue. Looks pretty well dark green to me. This medal has too many weird things about it; I think I'll pass on bidding for it.

After seeing the suspension I wouldn't bid on it either. The suspension looks OK to me - is similar/the same as the ones for participation and bronze awards of that era (pre-VDNKh). The difference in condition of the medal and suspension worries me - makes me think it might be a mix-n-match job.

Was this on E? - if so I missed it.

No, it's on a Finnish auction site. Currently going at 6 euros, that's about 8 dollars.

Guys,

From the top of my head, the ribbon should be dark blue I believe, although I would not bet my last Order of Victory on that :)
