Thought I would share my lastest buy. I Just got this on May 24, at the Sam’s Military Relic Show in San Antonio, TX. I am 100% certain that this is not an original medal bar, due to level of prestige of these awards and for a recipient to receive all four of these labor medals without receiving any other intermediate awards would be kind of odd. Nonetheless, it is a handsome grouping with lots of detail, enamel and color. Starting from the left, the medals are:

- Order of October Revolution
- Order of the Red Banner of Labor
- Order of Honor
- Order of Labor Glory 3rd Class

Here is the backside and serial numbers...

- Order of October Revolution #56788
- Order of the Red Banner of Labor #287963
- Order of Honor #1328175
- Order of Labor Glory 3rd Class #521177

The serial numbers would also suggest that this is not an original bar due to the large gap between the numbers.

october revolution: approx 1978
red labor : july 1954
honor 1983-84?
glory 3rd: 83-84?

no coherence between red banner of labor and the others; I find curious the mix between honor (cultural and education award) and classic labor...the revolution october must be the crown jewel of a labor career, so it'd be logical to find a labor glory and others given before october...
my opinion, sebastien

I think this is a fantasy group. I saw a lot of groups with this combination, NONE with documents.

I definitely don't get excited about bar-mounted groups unless there are documents involved...

Here's a group that I mounted up for myself back in my early days of collecting Soviet awards just as an 'example' of Soviet awards (I had it on display in a frame and all.) I sold it just like that on eBay a few years ago, as a 'put together' group. God only knows if someone tried to sucker someone with it later!

In fact, I don't trust any award group on a bar (unless it's really old and salty, even at that, I've still bought put-together bars!) unless there are documents! Here are a few examples of groups that I put together for a very well-off, but very novice, client back in the early 1990's. He didn't care about the whole research thing (or even them being real) he just wanted pretty uniforms with lots of medals (he'd specify exactly which ones, which was nice) and I'd build them for him! (He'd even send me some of the medals to include with the group!) Here are the results... I'm not proud of them (as they are nearly 'impossible' fantasy groups) but he was happy! :)

Let's just hope that he didn't foist these off on some novice collector as the 'real deal'! (That's why I don't do this sort of thing for people anymore!) :(

I concur with everyone’s comments about this piece. Like I said, I didn’t think it was real group but for $150.00 I tgink it was worth it.

John,

Recently somebody had ordered from me a bunch of multi-sectional suspensions with ribbons mounted. I think this one might be my job.

Here is an interesting group I purchased from an antique store. The document that came with the group agrees with the Order of Red Banner of Labor but all the rest of the group was written in with ball point pen. How did this group get put together? The medal for Combat Service has no number.

Here is the document for the Red Banner of Labor group. The truth be known, I bought the group for the Sevastopol and Odessa medals.

It's a shame that they had messed up a perfectly good document :(

Certainly the worst fake doc I saw. Also, the Odessa and Sevastopol are fakes.

Many made up "groups" are on ebay. for example:

And MANY more. BTW, the seller is a member here, maybe we will hear his comments.
