Red Army Soldier Cable-Post Company Goroshko I. G., working as a line supervisor, showed courage, exceptional ability and skill while constructing and exploiting cable-post line communications for the successful advance of units in battle for Smolensk, in the region of the Dnepr in the period from 18th to 30th September 1943.
The cable-post lines were constructed in a strip of enemy artillery fire, often under enemy aviation bombardment. Line Supervisor Red Army Soldier Goroshko I. G., with risk to life, quickly restored breakages in the line. Communication always worked excellently there, where was located Communist Goroshko I. G..
For courage and valour, shown while organising communications following advancing combat units, for skilfully quickly locating and restoring breakages, for providing uninterrupted communications Red Army Soldier Goroshko, I. G. is presented for the Governmental award - The Medal "For Combat Merits".

11. Has received awards (for which distinction). The Medal "For The Defence Of Stalingrad" by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 22-12-1942, The Medal "For Combat Merits" Order of the 68th Army #0111/N of 06-10-1943.

Red Army Soldier Goroshko I. G. showed genuine samples of personal courage and heroism in the period of the successful advancing activities of the 5th Army in the territory of Manchuria.
From 14th August, in the night of 15th August in the platoon of Senior Lieutenant Medvedev was attacked by a group of Japanese soldiers and officers. One Japanese soldier managed to light the automobile laden with petrol. Ignoring danger under enemy fire, Private Goroshko threw a cover over the machine and put out the fire. Thanks to the selflessness of Red Army Soldier Goroshko had saved property and the automobile.

For showing personal heroism while organising combat communications, Private Goroshko, Ivan Grigor'evich - worthy of the Governmental award - Order "Red Star".
