For Bravery,U/N 1967,50th Anniversary Of The October Revolution
This one wouldn't have been the same without the supporting doc. As a quick background, this is one in a wave of awards that were bestowed to 1917 Revolution and Civil War veterans on "round date" anniversaries.
Name: Ivanov, Sergey Alekseevich Awarded with medal: "For Bravery" 7 November 1967 Attached document: Dear comrade Ivanov S.A. From the name of the Orenburg oblast committee CPSU, the oblast Soviet of worker deputies warmly and heartily congratulates you with the glorious 50th anniversary of Great October socialist revolution, and your awarding with a high government decoration due to the jubilee of Great October! Orenburg citizens remember and thank you for the contribution that you made towards the triumph of ideas of Great October, defense of its victories, and strengthening the might of our socialist Motherland. Wishing you sound health, long years, and personal happiness! Secretary of Oblast Committee of CPSU A. Kovalenko Chairman of Executive Committee of Oblast Soviet A. Balandin |

Such a shame his name is far too common to easily pinpoint.
Still not seen a "50th" award citation although there are many "50th" awards in the collection.

Thanks! It's a good one, but..the gent in the citation is from Chaplinsky RVK/ Nikolaevskaya Oblast (Ukraine); whereas Orenburg is deep in South Russia. Now you've got me curious, I'll try different Podvig searches.

Most likely it's a 50 anniversary of the October Revolution award. As far as I know these didn't have citations, and certainly not in the PN database.

Re: For Bravery,U/N 1967,50th Anniversary Of The October Revolution
I was implying that this person was a viable candidate to be the recipient and not that this was the citation for the award (this is a 1945 awarded Medal "For Combat Merits").
It must also be taken into consideration that there was quite often relocations. One group in the collection to a 50th Anniversary recipient. He was born in the far west of the Russian Empire but had relocated to the Uzbek SSR prior to the Great Patriotic War. If he had relocated again after the war you could find his birthplace being very different to his wartime Commissariat but he may have returned home or gone elsewhere to receive "thanks" in the 1960's. This is just with domestic travels - it gets even stranger a tale with internationalists within the Warsaw Pact nations etc.
