It would break your heart if I told you about all of the great badges that I have foolishly passed on. I know it breaks mine. Not this one, though. I got it earlier this month.

I have a few Narkomat badges, even some with IDs, back home but this is one of my better ones. If I could find a few more I might put together a little display of them, but I just can't find enough. They make an interesting collecting specialty, I think. Is anyone out there collecting them as a speciality?

Over the last few years I have shifted a bit towards labor badges. The variety and scarcity is great, and I can also appreciate the work ethic of the recipients. More often than not, these are little works of art and loaded with a ton of socialist realism!

The badge was awarded to Poliakov Stepan Gavrilovich on April 21, 1943; document is signed by People's Commissar of Finances Arseniy Zverev. Enjoy!
