The badge is from Royal period.

It's quite common. There's always one available for sale somewhere.

It was created in 1941 to give those General, Bulgarian and German officers and NCOs (Front of the Balkans) who excelled in acts of valor during the conflict. The measurements are 40 mm x 55 mm. The plate represents the figure of a soldier looking aside. Just above him, a shield with the colors of the flag of Bulgaria and in the center the emblem of King Boris III. Under the soldier appears in miniature, the Bravery Order. They were awarded in four versions. Golden for Generals, silver for Officers, bronze with red enamel for NCOs and bronze without enamel for soldiers.
