Fantastic read using Poland, Hungary, and DDR as case studies! I'm only 12% through reading on my Kindle and can't put it down. Great history of Soviet invasion/liberation/subjugation with discussion of politics, creation of national NKVD-inspired secret police, etc.

I'm only a quarter of the way through the book and it just keeps getting better. I'm just afraid of someone using this as a play book for the future.
