Except basements can be damp and are prone to flooding (at least around here). Don't want any mold on this stuff!

Great point. Girlfriends come and go but wives never leave! I have a pretty good deal regardless: Amy is indifferent to my collection and honestly I think that is a good thing in the long run.

We did work out a deal that when we do get a new house we will make sure the new house has a finished basement that is dry all the time. See I have this vision in my head of a large room (in our new house) with a pool table surrounded by tunics on mannequins lining the walls, a shelf about 2 feet down from the ceiling lined with all sorts of headgear on it, medals in cases on the walls, lots of miscellaneous militaria in every nook and cranny of open space in this large room and two very comfortable easy chairs with a small table between them.

That table will hold a bottle of 12 year old single malt scotch and (if I can sneak a couple in from Canada) a couple of Cuban cigars. I am willing to store most of my collection for a year to have a room like that. When that happens feel free to stop in and enjoy some militaria, scotch and if you are from Canada bring the Cubans. thanks Clete

That'll never happen in my basement. Even in New York, it so humid that I need to put dessicant packets everywhere I have anything prone to oxidation. But, as soon I get my dream of moving to Colorado, Ill be sure to dig out my private bunker and build a Soviet themed bar with my entire collection displayed. No worries about UV radiation! And, Ill build an adjacent room "bomb shelter" with my NBC stuff. Obviously, it will probably never be used, but good display method.

My room seems to be getting to capacity, what with all the American "guys" who have dropped in, yet things still find their way to the room from New Jersey. :)

Artwork 1

During the design process, the boards went through a development stage on paper. Here are a few examples of the artwork used to design the final prototype boards.
