Early Medal for Combat Service SN 157, T1 V1 in case of issue. One of the first medals awarded.

This particular variation is not listed in Dr. Battushig's book (not sure why).

Excuse my ignorance but what makes it different variation because it looks like a standard early medal with faded green leaves.I've been collecting Mongolian awards for a few years and thought I had all variations of that particular medal.
I'm not being awkward but genuinely interested in new info.

T1 V1 medals all had hand-engraved serial number and the Cyrillic "N" in front of SN.

Same as Soviet T1 V1 Bravery, Mil Merit and Labor medals.

T1 V2 were without Cyrillic "N".

Yes, a nice Type 1.1. So far, the lowest number observed has been 112, so, close, but no carnation. So far, the data are too fragmentary to give any for of solid date-of-award estimate, but surely pre-1953, so POSSIBLY a long service award (post-1947).

When the records are open . . . :D

That is a great example! It looks to be in perfect condition and it is not often that you see one with such a low serial.

Nice piece! The lowest number I have seen was a single digit. Should've kept it.
