With the forum slowly evolving over time I thought it was time to be a bit nostalgic and reflect on its routes.
The forum originates in The Soviet Military Awards Bulletin Board System which had its first post on 4th June 2000 (Over 16 years ago now). The very first post was by Art "If it creates some interest I'll keep it around". It certain has and does. We've been having and will continue to have fun too.

Re: A trip down memory lane.
"The Soviet Military Awards Page Forum" replaced the "Bulletin Board System" on 29th January 2002. The basic structure has changed very little since creation.
The forum moved to its current address in mid 2006. This snapshot shows that not all subsections have stood the test of time. "Bureau of weights and measures" didn't last very long. Nor did "Red Star In Orbit", mainly because most of the posts there were not Soviet items (although the posts have now been moved into other subforums). Finally we have a snapshot of today - what a day! 239 active users on the forum at once. A new record. This should put the last nail in the coffin of any ideas that the forum is not ever growing in sphere and traffic. You may notice two additional groups in the latest screengrab that you don't usually see. These are for moderators and administration. Many threads have been moved there for private safekeeping and there are also threads dedicated to each user either not in good standing or that had an issue for the Stavka. If someone has been banned they have a thread.

Re: A trip down memory lane.
What happened to the thumbs-up "like" function? Will it return?

Re: A trip down memory lane.
It just vanished. No idea why, although it may be due to a software update. I have been unable to find any way to reinstate it.
That being said, I was happy to receive all of the 3,000+ "likes" for my posts. Even if they have now all vanished.
