Interesting Soviet Pilot Uniform!
Nice matching hat: There are two whip-stitched holes for screw-back awards over the left breast pocket. The "shadow/impression" on the inside lead me to believe this pilot may have worn a Halhingol and Red Banner. The really interesting point is the sleeve insignia is an actual, per-regulation, silk device. As opposed to the more often encountered, non-regulation bullion patches! Yes!
Currently, this resides with me. I have some better scans of the insignia, but they exceed the posting limits. :banghead

Smock made at the Red May Factory in Leningrad in 1941.
The cap was made in 1942 at the Red Partisan Factory in the city of Komsomol'sk on the Amur. Breeches in November 1940 in (?) Tumansk All with very nice maker's stampings inside. The tunic, front & back. Last edited by CtahhR; 04-16-2014 at 06:32 PM. |

Very nice indeed.
Love the cap especially. Thanks for the posting
(But I also agree your layout has a "double decker" look to it) |

stamps
When buying from DDA stamps are a BAD thing. They are all recently "stamped", often taking items that are post war and "converting" them to the right age. dd

Wings on a buttonhole, it small are sample of 60X. Bird on a sleeve, bad copy from Ukraine. signs of a distinction on sleeve also. and matter (material) of a jacket from 50X.
This, novel thing made in St Petersburg for tourist collector. A forage cap also, it is not pleasant to me if it from the ebay
