Badge "Honoured Worker Of The Merchant Fleet".
Greetings everyone,
I recently acquired the MORFLOT (merchant marine) badge depicted below. Any idea of the timeframe it was in use? Thanks much! |

K3rvmfusa,
What you have is a second type of the Honored Worker of the Merchant Fleet Badge. First one was from 1948 and is quite rare, this one is from 1958, and is still obtainable at reasonable prices. Alexei |

Here are the backsides of earlier versions of the Merchant Marine Badge, S/N 8510 and 14621. From the front, they all look the same.

Well 15199 at least. Seriously, I do not know how many. It is hard to get reliable info on these civilian badges.
It was given to any merchant marine sailors who impressed their bosses somehow. Shawn |

Re: "Excellent in Socialist Competition" badges
Just a side note, indirectly related to these beautiful (and ORIGINAL) badges. All of these, without exception, are currently being faked, some of them quite convincingly so.
