odd book...

Finally got this book....odd in places, errors ( 1943 naval general with wrong boards, postwar hats with wartime uniforms, etc).

The uniform he is wearing in the above pic is interesting though. Its a M1943 parade uniform for a full admiral, probably one of Kuznetzovs tunics. Like to know where it is now...

Re: The Naval Uniforms 1917-1945

Hi Tom,

Welcome to the forum. The book is good to have for the photos; if you can pick it up on Ebay for $15 or so I'd say it's a good buy. There is a good Russian language hardcover book on the history of the Russian Naval uniform that's better overall.

Hi,

Not sure what more i can say...not a great book, but some nice photos if nothing else...if you can get a copy for $15 or so on Ebay then its probably a good buy...more than that and it gets iffy.

Ah, perhaps. I have to dig up my copy. Its green, hardcover, and cover pre-soviet era and then the soviet era.

Ah . . . glad to see you catalogue your library the same way I do with mine: Unstable stacks, arranged roughly by size, and distantly rememebered by color.
