Militia Generals belt

Its been a long time since I have gotten in an item that I have not seen before. This is one of those times : )

Based on the silver M1943 generals parade belt, this is the gold M1947 Militia Generals Victory Parade belt. Its odd, in that the soviets at this time were going away from this style of cloth buckle belt at the time, and yet here they introduced a new style of the M1943 cloth belt, but in gold rather than silver.

It's also interesting that it was a reverse color scenario; silver belts for generals with gold embroidery in the army and milita generals with silver embroidery with a gold belt! The Germans would never have put up with such a silly system.

Wow, a cloth buckle! Honestly, I've never seen one of these ever either. How exactly do you buckle one of these?

belt

I have had the silver version ( army/air force/NKVD) in many times, but this is the first gold one (Militia) i have ever had in.

the belt clips together and then the cloth "buckle" wraps around it and there is a button. So, actually, the "buckle" does very little other than cover up the part of the belt that clips together.
