Re: Very bizarre temporary certificate for VoG
Alexei,
Unfortunately no, I do not have any scans of it. It was shown to me by some fellow collector in StP a good couple of years ago. That's the only one that ever crossed my path. Marc |

This Victory over Germany document to a Bulgarian soldier came in today. Awarded to 37th Army, signed by Tolbuchin.

Re: Victory over Germany document
Interesting! Isn't the serial number usually on page two? Maybe it got flipped over at the print shop? And I've never seen a giant asterix like that before.

Re: Victory over Germany document
Eric,
The document is OK. There are many variation of the VoG booklet and all of them have the SN on the back cover. Marc |

Re: Victory over Germany document
Thanks for clearing that up for me!
I just noticed both my VoG books are that way as well. But all my other booklets of similar timeframe, including a VoJ, have the number on page two. Strange, these Soviets... :)

Victory over Germany documents
Well, what the heck, right? Might as well add my two since the thread's been started.
This first one is dated '58 I believe so that would make it a "catch-up" (or ketchup?) award. :) How late in the last century have we noticed these things dated??

Re: Victory over Germany document
The signatures on any of the award documents always fascinate me (especially on the second doc).:thumbsup Thankfully, I learned what the little line after the "signature" means.

Re: Victory over Germany documents
You're kidding?!?!?!?!? :) You mean more than 50 years after the fact they are still finding people who qualify for this award? Wow! That's pretty cool.
