Of related interest, a Defense of the Caucasus medal document awarded to Comrade Fyodor Timofeyevich Matrenin (a civilian?) on January 18, 1945, by the commander of the 230th Red Banner Regiment of the Convoy Troops of the NKVD, Colonel Yumashev.

Defense of the Caucasus medal document awarded to Andrei B. Manukyan on March 27th, 1946 by the Armenian Military Commissariat and signed by a Colonel Asaturyan.

I have the chance to purchase this Caucasus Defense document and medal for a fair price. But, I'm concerned that this doc is too intact to be true.
What do you think about it??? Is it real or fake????

Both the document and the medal look OK to me. The document is the scarcer Presidium of Supreme Soviet of the Georgian SSR variety :thumbsup

Some additional examples I have been fortunate enough to have collected. They are, left to right. . .

- Defense of the Caucasus medal document awarded to Private Tamara Nestorovna Goggelashvili, 24th Independent Aerial Observation Batallion, Aerial Observer, awarded by Unit Commander Major Morozov on May 3rd, 1945.

- Defense of the Caucasus medal document awarded to ethnic Georgian Akakii D. Buadze by the 3rd Belorussian Front Artillery CDR HQ on June 8th, 1945, 1 day prior to "Victory Day", signed by Transcaucasus Front Artillery Commander's Chief of Personnel, Colonel Korol.

- Defense of the Caucasus medal document awarded to ethnic Georgian woman Junior Lieutenant Eva I. Mdzinariashvili by the Tbilisi Municipal Military Commissariate May 5th, 1945, 4 days prior to "Victory Day".
