Last week, I visited the Museum of Mongolian Statehood. This is a new museum located at the Mongolian Parliament and it was opened at the end of last year. Unfortunately the place is not open to public but the Government is planning to ensure access to the public in near future. The museum has sections on History of the Mongolian Parliament, Mongolian Court, etc. I was allowed to take some pictures that I would like to share with the forum members. As this museum is new, I hope that it will enrich its exhibits and collections (of interest to the members of this forum) in the years to come.
Photograph #1 Breast badges of the Members of the Mongolian Parliament since 1992. Photograph #2 A distinct badge of the MP that was in use for a brief period from 1992. Made of silver and hot enamels. Pinback. Mongolian manufacture. Photograph #3 Order of Chinggiskhaan. The highest award conferred in modern Mongolia. So far, a handful of statesmen (mostly former Presidents and Prime Ministers) have been awarded this order. Made of gold, platinum, silver and diamonds. Manufactured at the Coin, order and medal mint of Mongolia. Last edited by CtahhR; 03-12-2012 at 09:49 AM. |

Photograph #1 The Orders of Precious Vajra. Modern variation produced in Mongolia. This particular variation has an enamelled still suspension. For some reason, the President's Office does not award this order to distinguished foreigners.
Photograph #2 The items retrieved from Marshal Kh. Choibalsan's tomb in 2005. Right in front of some notebooks, cigarette box and buttons (from his Marshal's uniform), you see his Booklet of the Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic. I actually held this booklet and the one for his second Hero title in my hands few years ago (when I was in process of writing my book "The Orders and Medals of the Mongolian People's Republic 1924-1992" Ulaanbaatar, 2010). Photograph #3 The former and current badges of the Mongolian Prosecutor's Office. Interestingly, you see badge stamps for some of the badges from the mint. Photograph #4 Badges currently awarded by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia. Photograph #5 Close-up picture of the seal of Marshal Choibalsan put on an envelop. The inscription on the seals read in Mongolia "Sealed by Choibalsan". Last edited by CtahhR; 03-12-2012 at 09:51 AM. |
