Jubilee Medal "65 Years Of Victory In The Great Patriotic War 1941-1945".

For this medal, someone took the Moldovan 60th Anniversary of the GPW medal in a bronze color, then redid it in nickle, or at least replated it. On the reverse, a "65" was punched over the "60."

I've seen several of these and the unique ribbon seems to give it an air of officiality, however I've read conflicting accounts that Moldova will award a more generic "Black Cross" decoration that will be awarded to Moldovan WWII veterans, not just Soviet, but also those who fought for the axis in the Romanian army.

This cheaply produced Medal is the most common of four awarded by Moldova for military service between 1941 and 1945.

Decree #226 of 2nd April 2010 committed 105,000 Lei ($8,700) to fund the import of Medals, Documents and Cases from the Russian Federation.
The Medal imported from Russia was named slightly differently - Medalia Jubiliară "65 De Ani De La Victoria În Marele Război Pentru Apărarea Patriei 1941-1945".
