I too would never repair or restore an award or a document. I'd like to keep them in the condition they were in when they left the original recipient. Not everything has to look "text book"; I have more than enough awards and documents that do. I don't think there's a good way to re-attach a torn page anyway; all attempts would be clearly visible as such and I would definitely want to avoid that.
Plus, patina grows back over time. Depending on storage conditions, you should have a modest layer of patina in 10-20 years. |
