MVD Specialist
I know the general specialist badge "first class" for soldiers and sergeants is the blue one - which group was awarded with the red one?

Alexander,
Isn't it the MVD? It seems that there are letters in the enamel under the digit "1". Marc |

MVD Qualification Badges
Came by these fairly recently; not because they are rare but because they are, in my opinion, grossly overpriced. Finally found a set that was more reasonable.
Avers 2 has these listed as 1955; I just don't agree with that date. For one thing, these are aluminum and the '50's was not the era for aluminum badges. A retail site has these listed as being produced only from 1972 through 1974- that is more believable to me. Anyway, light alloy and paint with pin back and a mint mark consisting of a "P" surrounded by an "S"- am unsure of this mark.

Re: MVD Qualification Badges
I've had these for a while. All sources agree these are from 1978. Light alloy and paint, pin back and with the "peace sign" mark attributed to the Moscow sports and military badge factory.

Re: MVD Qualification Badges
Here is a Document for the 2nd Class Specialist Qualification awarded to Starshina of Extended Service G. M. Kravchenko by Poltava Oblast Executive Committee of the Department Of Internal Affairs on 20th August 1980. Issued 30th September 1980.

Re: MVD Qualification Badges
Actually it says "Interior Service Starshina", so probably Interior troops or Fire Department. However, all starshinas were generally extended servicemen, so it is also correct.
