Ever since I saw Rick's gray Soviet tanker--I knew I had to have one! (Rick is a fellow cloth collector, who may or may not be a member of this forum, btw).
Well, I finally found a set! As with Rick's, mine is a captain's, but I believe that this particular pullover is an M35 rather than an M40 issue (the sleeve chevron is more simple). The pilotka is of the type issued from 1936 to 1940 and is unmarked inside. It has what appears to be the standard soft wool interior which happens to be black on this pilotka (it is purple on my air-force pilotka and yellowish on Rick's tanker pilotka). Lee,
I finally shot this tank commissar; its the grey for tank troops and its the single breasted jacket (or tunic/ I have to be very careful about terms now!) here is a close up of the star; note the matching grey backing. DougD Last edited by CtahhR; 04-15-2014 at 04:59 PM. |

Nice! ;)
Any chance you show a detailed photo of the collar: both on top and underneath? |
